BitHeadz has ported the Retro AS-1 analogue software synthesiser into a Cubase VST instrument. The Retro AS-1 VST features 64 note polyphony and can use up to 16 MIDI channels. For even denser sounds the plugin can be run up to eight times at once, offering 128 (8x16) channels. The synth is pre-programmed with 1,400 sounds, including basses, leads, pads, special effects and drum sounds. Customised sounds can be saved within the Cubase song file, and should work with the standard Mac and PC version of the synth. Author: Simon PG Edwards 24 February 2000
